Our vision provides the basis for our strategy and is the foundation and motivation for continuous renewal and expansion of our operations.

Vision

We are Switzerland’s leaders in long-term, cost-effective preservation of printed and paper-based items and cultural property of all kinds and we make these items easily accessible. In doing so we support members and customers with a focused, efficient range of services.

Mission statement

The Cooperative Storage Library Switzerland (CSLS) offers its members and customers efficient, space-saving, cost-effective, conservation-compliant storage and management of books, magazines and other media. It provides a wide range of archiving, library and logistics services, in particular lending of items and document delivery.

The CSLS is an independent library and, thanks to its collective holdings, is perceived as such by other libraries in Switzerland and abroad. In addition to this, libraries and their employees consider the CSLS to be a competent service provider for daily operations and a reliable partner for temporary and permanent outsourcing projects.

The CSLS is able to maintain its strengths thanks to the continuous review and optimisation of its processes. Management works together with the board to increase the professionalism of its business and pricing models. In all its activities the CSLS takes responsibility for the environment and designs its infrastructure and operational processes to be as climate-neutral as possible.

Despite our ambition to make fast, on-time deliveries we pay attention to the consistent, very high quality of our services to the benefit of our customers and their customers. We handle our resources prudently and economically.
